Mark was a shy boy that had difficulty speaking to people without stuttering.  He had an effeminate way about him, his hips more round then most men and his hand were small and slender. He spent a great deal of time a lone reading and writing poetry about nature. People often giggled at the way he talked, walked and dressed. He didn’t have a very manly sense of fashion and often wore loose fitting clothes to hide his large hips.

Mark’s mother insisted that he go on a blind date with the daughter of a friend. Mark fought her tooth and nail claiming that he was too busy at work. He finally agreed after his mother threatened to take back the car she had given him. He didn’t earn very much money and without the car he wouldn’t have any way to get to work and earn the measly living he made. For several days prior to the date his hands would sweat and he dreaded being made to go out with a girl he didn’t even know.
